In 4 Banger action Tim Heinrick (#26) drove the car for the first time this season Sunday night and led flag to flag to score his first feature of the year.

A lap 3 spin brought out the lone caution of the race and Wagner again set the lead pace after the restart with Jerry Wilinski, Larry Karcz, Jason Czarapata, Rod Snellenberger and Shawn Kilgore behind. The field stayed close throughout the race with Wagner holding the lead in the outer groove. Wilinski was also running a little wider on the track with Czarapata slipping alongside in a battle for the runner up spot that lasted 6 laps. Czarapata then pulled inside of Wagner and another several lap back and forth battle for the lead that Czarapata ended on lap 15 by taking the lead. Wagner hung close on the outside but Czarapata pulled off his second feature win of the year with Wagner holding second. Jeremy Christians moved into third and held off Brandon Czarapata. Kilgore was right behind in fifth and Kyle Fredrick rounded out the top six,

The Streets put 24 cars on the grid tonight with three cautions at mid race keeping the field bunched. Joe Wittmann set the pace for the first 2 laps before David Zegers took over for one lap before a flat tire forced him out of the contest. Rick Naparalla and Jeremy Wiitala each led 3 of the next 6 laps while Lance Arneson made his way to the front from mid pack. Following a lap 13 caution, Arneson pulled into the top spot and for the rest of the race, ran out front to collect his fourth straight division feature, tying T.J. Whites 4 race streak from 1995. He has a chance a breaking the all time Street Stock streak of 5 set in 1989 by Brian Drexler.

Following Arneson in the top six were Wiitala, Naparalla, Darci Czarapata, Shawn Van Ooyen and Darren Otto.

The Late Models took a 15 car field to the feature lineup with Jeremie Hedrick pulling the lead on the start, setting the pace for 2 laps before A.J. Diemel powered into the lead on lap 3. Diemel pulled away from the pack while Hedrick, Troy Springborn and Terry Casey dueled for second.

By the time a caution appeared for a spin on lap 13, Casey had just secured second and was now right behind the leader. Springborn had other ideas and was set to re take the runner up spot which allowed Diemel the chance to scoot away again. One more caution on lap 16, but Diemel again pulled the field and walked off with his first feature win of the season. Springborn finished his first feature in two weeks taking a strong second with Casey taking third. Over the final 5 laps, Tom Naeyaert moved to the front to take fourth with Hedrick in fifth and Greg Dhein rounding out the top six.

The Late Models will take part in the WISSOTA Challenge series special this Thursday night at the Tri Oval.

The mighty Modifieds were next on the card and for the third time this season went flag to flag in their feature. Ron Figlinski took the lead from the pole and set the pace for 5 laps before R.M. Van Pay used the outside line to take over the top spot on lap 6. Art Siefert followed one lap late and pressured Van Pay for the top spot while Scott Mullen and Brian Mullen battled for third.

Over the final 5 laps, Van Pay was able to pull away from the field a bit and go on to collect his first feature win of the year. Siefert ran alone to take the runner up finish. The brother battle for third ended with Brian nipping Scott. Benji LaCrosse found his way into a fifth place finish with Brad Rohloff in sixth.

Tim Heinrick ran his first 4 Banger feature of the year and proceeded to lead flag to flag for his first feature win of the year. Dick White came from the back of the field to take second. Justin Sobieck was third with Tim Jorgensen, Wade White and Marty Vande Hei making up the top six.

The Seymour Tri Oval will play host to the WISSOTA Late Model Challenge series this Thursday night, June 5. This race follows the series opener in Shawano on Wednesday night and closes with an Open Special at Luxemburg of Friday night. It is early in the series and a good field is expected chasing points.

Gates open at 5 with racing at 7 PM. A full regular program returns next Sunday night, June 8.

Tri-Oval Prepares for WISSOTA Challenge Series Event!
By Dave Panske

June 1, 2003; Seymour, WI - The Seymour Tri Oval Raceway will host the WISSOTA Late Model Challenge series this Thursday night, June 5. It will be the second leg of a 2 race northeastern WI swing that starts at the Shawano Speedway on Wednesday night, June 4. It is early in this years series run and there will be a good group of cars running for the points.

The last time the cars were in Seymour in 2001, a field of 32 cars was on hand. 24 cars made the feature and they clicked off a non-stop feature event. Look for more of the same this week Thursday.

Pit gates open at 4 PM. Late Models will be draw/re draw for the night. The Street Stocks and IMCA Stock Cars will also be on hand and will be running for track points.

Grandstand opens at 5 PM with the first race at 7 PM. All of the pit areas at Seymour are outside the track, so there is not a bad seat in the house.
