#90P Travis Prill ended the season at the Seymour Tri-Oval with an after race cookout with friends and family.

A good field of 123 cars checked in to run for the close to $20,000 posted awards sponsored by Suebert Calf Ranches and N.E.W. DIRT.

The Street Stock division started the feature events. Mike Pierrard took the lead at the start followed by Cory Friday, Phil Hiles, Fred Davister, Shawn Van Ooyen, Derek Lecker and Alan Schluetter. Hiles moved into the top spot on lap 4 but could not shake Pierrard and Lecker as 2004 track champion, Darren Otto picked his way through traffic and into 4th place on lap 8.

The first caution appeared on lap 13 with the top 4 still running the same, and the entire field now bunched behind. On the restart, Lecker took to the outside and powered into the lead on lap 15. Otto moved into the runner up spot on lap 18 and Pierrard stayed in third. The leader brought out the second and final caution spinning in turn 2 on lap 20. Otto inherited the lead with Pierrard, Hiles, Brian Koch, Joe Johnson, Jerry Kope and Gregg Siebold behind. Otto held off the challengers for the final 5 laps for his 6th feature win of the season. Pierrard, Hiles, Koch, Kope and Siebold made the top six.

The Bay-Tek IMCA Stock Cars took the track next and clicked off a fast non-stop feature event. Brett Wenzel took the top spot at the start followed by Eugene Gregorich, Shawn Wagner, Jerry Schaalma, Dave Bouche, and Jeff Vlies. The top three pulled away from the field a bit and started to run into lapped traffic on lap 9. Wagner hooked up on the outside and started working on Gregorich, finally moving into the runner up spot on lap 12. By lap 15, Wagner had moved into the lead with Gregorich following into second. Wagner could not shake Gregorich as they pulled away from the pack. Brian Bruechert worked his way from in the field to take over third from Wenzel with 5 laps left. Gregorich was working the high line and got to high out of the Tri Oval on lap 22 and caught the front wall, forcing him to drop out of the race. Wagner continued on to win his second race in 2 days with Bruechert taking the second place finish. Wenzel was third with Vlies taking 4th. Schaalma 5th B.J. Giese rounding out the top six.

Danny Deau started the Budweiser IMCA Modified main on the pole and took up the lead at the start. Billy LeMieux, Eric Scribner, Brian Drexler, Mike Wedelstadt, and Jerry Wilinski were next in line. Deau was opening a lead as the field started to sort out behind. By lap 10, Wedelstadt caught and took over the runner up spot from Scribner. Paul Parker pulled into 4th place with Jay Schraufnagel in 5th.

Wedelstadt started to cut into the lead and by lap 15, was right behind. It took 2 more laps to move into the top spot and then start to build his own lead. Scriber, Parker, Schraufnagel and Drexler were running a tight battle for3rd thru 6th. Over the final 5 laps, lapped traffic came into play and Wedelstadt brought the field around to collect the white flag. The lone caution of the race flew on the final lap, putting the finish on the last lap. Wedelstadt picked up his second feature win of the season with Deau in second. Scribner led the group to take third with Parker taking 4th, Schraufnagel 5th and Mike Klenz 6th.

A strong field of 19 WDLMA type late models took the track for a big 40 lap feature event. M.J. Hintz set the pace for the opening 2 circuits before Tom Naeyaert pulled by on the outside to take command. Nick Anvelink moved into the runner up spot 1 lap later. The field was bunched next until the lone caution of the race flew on lap 8. Naeyaert and Anvelink were followed by Pete Parker, Ralph Aschenbrenner, Hintz, Terry Anvelink and A.J. Diemel. Parker caught the outside line on the restart and pulled into the lead. Once in front, the tri oval veteran started to pull away from the pack. The race for second stayed close with Naeyaert, Anvelink Diemel and Anvelink doing battle for much of the rest of the race.

Parker cruised the rest of the way to collect his third straight feature win. Naeyaert secured the second place finish with Nick Anvelink hold off dad Terry for third. Diemel took fifth and former track champ, Russ Scheffler rounded out the top six.

The 4 Cylinders closed out the night. Greg Banker drew the pole and quickly took command of the race. Tim Jorgenson, Kevin Birr, Jacob Wilcox Matt Gilson, Jon Wittmann and Stan Adamski were lined up behind. Banker and Jorgenson started to pull away from the field and by the mid point were running into lapped traffic. Marty Vande Hei had moved into third with Neil Sannes, Matt Oreskovich, Wittmann and Matt Maleport behind.

A lone caution slowed the pace with 2 laps remaining. The field was now bunched on the leader. Banker led the way to his 4th straight and 5th feature win of the season. Jorgenson took second followed by Vande Hei, Maleport, Matt Drawenek, and Gilson.

The program brought to a close the 2004 season at the Seymour Tri Oval Raceway. N.E.W. DIRT would like to THANK all of the fans driver and sponsors for their support throughout the season. Racing will return for the 22nd year under the club in May 2005.
