Sean Jerovetz (#37) captured a hard earned IMCA Modified feature win sunday night at the Seymour Tri Oval Raceway. It was his first ever Mod win at Seymour.

After 2 weeks of rain, remnants of last weeks full moon were still in effect for an interesting night of racing at the Seymour Tri Oval Raceway.

Shawn Kilgore leapt off the outside pole to lead the Bay-Tek IMCA Stock Car feature followed by Larry Karcz, Jr, Rod Snellenberger, Brian Karcz, Derrick Bruechert and George Gerbers.

Snellenberger moved into second and Jeremy Christians moved into fourth following a lap 6 caution. Snellenberger moved into the top spot by Kilgore on lap 9 with Christians moving into second. Snellenberger looped his car in the tri oval with a flat tire on lap 11, bringing out the caution. Christians inherited the lead with Karcz, Kyle Fredrick, Kilgore, Jason Czarapata, and Travis Van Straten lined up behind.

Fredrick moved behind the leader on the restart, and pressured for the lead.

Mid way through the final lap, the caution was displayed and ended the race with Christians earning his first tri oval feature of the season. Fredrick settled for the runner up finish with Karcz, Jason Czarapata, Brandon Czarapata, and Kilgore rounding out the top six.

The Street Stocks were next and drove a caution filled race that resulted in a time limit race after 15 laps.
Bill Kelsey led the opening 2 laps before Phil Hiles took control. Hiles led the rest of the way despite heavy pressure from Eric Arneson and Darren Otto. Otto took second with five laps left but could not mount a serious challenge. Hiles won his second feature of the season with Otto, Arneson, Jamie Van Ooyen, Brian Koch and Rick Naparalla rounding out the top six.

The Maplewood Shell WISSOTA Late Models took the track with Doug Blashe setting the pace early and through several cautions that slowed the first six laps. Tom Naeyaert, Mark Mitchell, A.J. Diemel, and Luke Roffers hounded the leader.

Lap 7 started a six lap green stretch that saw Naeyaert power into the top spot with Troy Springborn flying into second. A caution on lap 13 saw Springborn duck down pit lane turning the runner up spot over to Roffers, with Tim Buhler now in third. Diemel, Pete Parker and Blashe were now right behind.

Over the final 5 laps, Naeyaert built a lead and captured his first feature win here since June 30, 2002. Roffers was running second until dropping out on the final lap. Diemel held off Buhler for the second place finish. Parker was fourth with Randy Markwardt and M.J. Hintz rounding out the top six.

The Budweiser IMCA Mods took the green and clicked off 10 laps before a caution slowed their race. Sean Jerovetz sat on the pole a settled into the lead followed by Brian Mullen, Dan Deau, Eric Scribner, Russ Huxford and Jared Siefert. Mullen slipped into the top spot after the restart and was pulling away before a lap 18 caution set up a 2 lap dash to the finish. Jerovetz was still holding second with Travis Spaulding, Jerry Wilinski, Benji LaCrosse and Siefert tight behind. Mullen pulled again after the restart, but as he led the field to the white flag, the car broke lose in the tri oval and spun into the infield. Jerovetz, Spaulding, LaCrosse and Wilinski were now bunched running for the win. Jerovetz held off the challenge to win his first ever Tri Oval division feature. Spaulding, LaCrosse, Wilinski, Lance Arneson and Mike Wedelstadt rounded out the top six.

Tom Schmidt led the first 2 laps of the 4 cylinder main before James Vanden Bogart took over and led the rest of the way for his second feature win of the season. Matt Malport ended up in the runner up spot with Schmidt settling for third. Jasper Drengler, Greg Banker and Eric Mullen rounded out the top six.

Next week will be Poster night at the track with prizes awarded to the creators of the best posters for their favorite drivers.
