April 25, 2004; Seymour, WI - The 2004 racing season will begin this Sunday, May 2 at the Seymour Tri Oval Raceway. It will kick off the 21st season that N.E.W. DIRT will be promoting the weekly racing programs at the unique 1/3 mile clay tri oval. Five divisions will take part in the weekly programs that will run every Sunday night through Labor Day, September 5th. The IMCA Modifieds, WISSOTA Late Models, Street Stocks, IMCA Stock Cars and 4 cylinders will make up the shows. There are several changes for the 2004 season. Track work has been done to change the pit lane. The scale has been moved into the pit area. More concrete black has been put into place and will eventually take the place of all of the guard rail. The pit area speaker system has been re-done and a separate system will allow separate operation during the night. Despite the tight economy, N.E.W. DIRT will be increasing the weekly payoffs for all divisions. Pit admissions will be $15.00 with a club membership and $20 for non members. Grandstand admission will be the same with $9.00 for adult, $7.00 for senior citizens and students 13 18. 12 and under will be admitted FREE with an adult. Race time will remain at 6 PM every Sunday night. Pit gates will open at 3 PM with the grandstand at 4:30. The Modified and Stock Car divisions will again be run under the IMCA sanctioning. Uniform nation wide rules allow for the cars to run anywhere. The Late Models will again carry WISSOTA sanctioning. In addition to running for national points under WISSOTA, The division will also be part of the Tri Track Challenge Series. Seymour, Shawano and Antigo will take part in the program that will require late model drivers to compete a minimum of 6 nites at each track, with the points counting toward a separate point fund. So far with the tracks commitments and sponsorship from GSR and Suebert Calf Ranchers, the point fund totals $12,000. This will be split between the drivers that meet the requirements and will be based on the best 5 finishes at each track throughout the season. The Street Stock and 4 cylinders will be run under local club rules. The 2004 season should be an exciting one for drivers and fans alike. N.E.W. DIRT invites you to take in all the action every Sunday night at 6PM at the Seymour Tri Oval Raceway. |
