August 28, 2005; Seymour, WI - If you haven't been to the Seymour Speedway then you are missing some awesome racing of late. Sunday night it was time to crown champions in four of the five classes and it would prove to be one of the best shows of the year. With racing going three wide most of the night action was all over the track.

STREET STOCK #30  Joe Wittmann picked up his first checker of the season winning his heat race Sunday Night.

Jeremy Wiitala had already secured his championship going into the night
in the Street Stock division but that would not damper the feature event. Joe Whittman looked like he would be the man to beat as he led a great four-way battle for the lead with Eric Arneson, Brian Koch, and Jerry Kope for the early laps of the event. But luck would run out and mechanical problems would force Whittman to the pits for the night. The restart would see Koch in the lead with Arneson and Kope still in contention. But the man on the move would be David Hoerning on the high side of the track. Hoerning would storm to the lead with a great pass and hold off Kope and Koch at the line. Jamie Van Ooyen and Paul White finished out the top five.

Jared Siefert left nothing to chance when he grabbed a transfer spot in his heat race in the Budweiser IMCA Modified division. By starting the feature Siefert wrapped up the Budweiser Modified Track Championship for the year. Tim VandeHei would dominate the event early but a yellow flag wiped his commanding lead out completely and brought Lance Arneson into the picture. Arneson wasted little time diving under VandeHei for the lead. Arneson would then check out and look like he would win easily but Benji LaCrosse had other thoughts and slowly began to track Arneson down. The checkered flag would end any hopes for LaCrosse as Arneson would win by two car lengths. VandeHei would grab third with Chad Wilcox and Russ Huxsford finishing out the top five.

The real points battle would take place in the IMCA Stock car division as three drivers were within five points at the start of the night two others with 17 points. Jamie Colwell, Jason Czarapata, Rod Snellenberger, Kyle Fredrick and Junior Karcz all in the hunt for the championship from the drop of the green flag. Fredrick would do everything he could turning in a dominating performance grabbing his second feature win of the season. But the win would not be enough as Czarapata, Snellenberger and Colwell went toe to toe right behind him. Snellenberger would drive the high line to perfection and grab second and put himself in great position to overcome the five point deficit he faced at the start of the night. But that too was not enough. The battle came down to Czarapata and Colwell as they raced bumper to bumper the entire feature. On a side note, compliments need to go out to both drivers, who with everything on the line, who ran a perfect race. In the end it would be Czarapata beating Colwell to the line and securing his first IMCA Track Championship at the Seymour Speedway.

The Maplewood Shell/Ponderosa Steakhouse WISSOTA Late Models put on a great show despite the wide margin of victory for Gordie Seegert Jr. A.J Diemel would storm to the lead and make it look like another easy victory before mechanical problems ended his night. With Seegert's victory and the problems by Deimel the points race is now separated by only 17 points going into next week's final points night. The racing behind the leader was in a word, Awesome! With two and three wide battles throughout the top ten, Tim Buhler and Nick Anvelink sliced and diced their way to grab second and third respectively. Luke Roffers would grab fourth and Justin Ritchie fifth in the event that saw cars running with their rear fenders nearly scraping the outside wall. Doug Klemp would also turn in a great performance before settling for sixth.

The 4-cylinder class was a one-man show dominated by Tim Jorgenson from lap two. Jorgenson would survive a caution midway through the event to grab another win in the 4-cylinder class. Matt Oreskovich would finish third to secure the Division Championship for 2005. Greg Banker who going into the night had an outside chance at overtaking Oreskovich
would finish second but have to settle for second in the points race as well. Rounding out the top five were DJ Jorgensen and Joe Schwister.
