Seymour Tri-Oval Race Report

June 12, 2005; Seymour, WI - For the second straight week a record field of 151 cars filled the lots Sunday night at the Seymour Speedway. Troy Springborn paced the Ponderosa/ Maplewood Shell WISSOTA Late Models by picking up his first feature win here since Aug 31, 2003. Lance Arneson endured to pickup his first ever Seymour , Budweiser IMCA Modified, feature event. The Street Stock, IMCA Stock Car and 4 Cylinders were not run because of curfew.

Doug Blashe sat on the pole for the late model main and set a quick pace until the lone caution of the race appeared on lap 8. Troy Springborn found an opening to the inside on the restart and pulled into the top spot. Randy Markwardt, Terry Anvelink, Mark Mitchell, and Chris Carlson were lined up right behind. Blashe stayed close and pulled up behind over the final couple of laps, but Springborn was in control and pickup up his first feature win of the season here. Blashe, Markwardt, Gordie Seegert, Terry Anvelink and A.J. Diemel rounded out the top 6 places.

Lance Arneson took the lead from Kyle Meyers during the first lap and had his hands full the rest of the way. Meyers, Chris Engles, Jerry Muenster and Eddie Muenster were right behind. Lap 8 proved to be difficulty as four cautions slowed the pace. Jerry Muenster got a quick start on the second restart, but another caution erased the move. Arenson was able to maintain the lead to the finish. Myers tried several times to pull off a pass for the lead , but a final caution when Muenster car stalled in turn 4 bunched the field a final time. Brandon Czarapata moved into the runner up spot and chased the leader to the finish. Jared Siefert started well back in the field but finished in third. Engels, Jeremie Hedrick and Myers round out the top six.

Race times for the rest of the season will remain at 5 PM every Sunday night.
