Seymour Gearing Up for 2005
!
By Dave Buss

March 15, 2005; Seymour, WI - N.E.W. Dirt is looking forward to starting a new chapter in the history of dirt track racing in Seymour. Gone is the Seymour Tri-Oval, taking its place is the Seymour Speedway. 2005 is shaping up to be a great season with the addition of many great new amenities to go along with the excitement and great racing of years past.

With the help of many area businesses, the Outagamie County Fair Board, and countless volunteers the track has been completely reconfigured into the more traditional oval shape. New clay, lights, and retention fencing is set to be put in place as soon as the weather permits. The club is working with numerous experts to ensure that the work done will provide
a great racing venue for years to come.

The 2005 schedule was released not to long ago and many fans have noticed that we have decided to start the season a little later than in past years (May 22). This decision was made to ensure that there is adequate time to prepare the track correctly and avoid early season problems. Seymour Speedway will once again host the Maplewood Shell/Ponderosa WISSOTA Late Models, Budweiser IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, Jacob's Fencing Street Stocks, and the 4-cylinder class on a weekly basis. Also returning this year is the Tri-Track Challenge series for the WISSOTA Late Model class the series is brought to by Potawatomi, Gold Star Racing, and Seubert Calf Ranches and in partnership with the Langlade County Speedway and Shawano Speedway.

The Seymour Speedway will be experimenting with a new start time during the month of May as we move race time up to 5 pm from our normal 6 pm start. We will be gathering feedback from the fans, drivers, and track staff as to whether this starting time will remain throughout the season. Division Champions will be crowned on August 28th for all classes except the Maplewood Shell/Ponderosa WISSOTA Late Models who will crown their Champion as part of the season ending special on September 4th.
