May 16, 2005; Seymour,
WI - N.E.W. DIRT announced Sunday that the 2005 season opener on
the re-shaped Seymour Speedway has been moved back one week to Sunday May 29.
The recent week of wet weather has prevented track crews from completing the work
necessary to open the track this week.
The new banked 1/3 mile oval is all in place and is constantly being groomed.
Work on the outside walls and fencing is what needs to be completed.
The track will also have a new lighting system this season. The weather has also delayed
the pouring of the concrete pads for the poles. The pads must cure three weeks before the
poles can be put up. The current lighting is still in place and will be used until the new
system is operating.
A full five division program will take to the new track on the 29th with racing starting
at 5 PM. WISSOTA Late Models will continue to make Seymour their Sunday night home track
as part of the Tri Track Challenge Series.
The IMCA sanctioned Modifieds and Stocks Cars, along with the Street Stocks and 4 Cylinder
divisions make up the weekly events. |
