Maplewood
Shell/Dedicated Systems WISSOTA Late Model #81 Troy Springborn,
Shawano, used the outside line to his advantage Sunday night
passing #10 Pete
Parker, Kaukauna. Once in front, Springborn went on to his
second feature win while Parker finished third to Justin
Ritchie, New London.

Hortonville’s #1m
Mike Wedelstadt held off some intense challenges by #34 Chad
Wilcox of Lena, to take the Modified event win. It was
Wedelstadt’s first win at Seymour since 2004.

Stock Car racers #10 Rod Snellenberger, Pulaski, #10 Mike Weitor,
Green Bay
and #27 Darren Otto, also of Green Bay, went three-wide in their
battle in Sunday night’s feature race lead. Otto was able to
gain the advantage on this lap six action with Snellenberger
eventually taking the lead and the win.

Sport Mod #03 Jason Jach, Pulaski, got the hole shot past #39
Joe VanOoyen, Appleton, to grab the feature win Sunday night.

A final caution
set up a three-lap dash with #17 Harley Simon, Seymour, able to
hold off #27 Darren Otto and #19x David Hoerning, Appleton on
the final lap of the Street Stock feature. The 2006 Simon took
home his third 2006 A-main victory. Otto held on to finish
second, followed by Hoerning, Jeremy Wiitala and Mitch Landvick.

#75x Matt
Oreskovich, Clintonville, led flag-to-flag on his way to his
sixth 4-Cylinder feature win of 2006 and sweep of the night.
Early on in the event, he was pressured by fellow heat winner
#8m Matt Maleport, DePere. |

and a field of 12 took the green for the feature. The opening lap
saw point leader, Tim Buhler tag the front wall, cut a tire and slam
the turn one wall, ending his night.
Terry Anvelink paced the opening lap when the race resumed and Rod
Snellenberger grabbed the top spot on lap 2 and led the field until
Troy Springborn sprinted by on the outside on lap 6. Once in front,
Springborn pulled away from the pack and ran to his second feature
win of the season. Justin Ritchie, Pete Parker, Nick Anvelink and
Snellenberger ran together for the rest of the race and finished in
that order with Terry Anvelink rounding out the top 6.
Despite his early exit from the race, Buhler earned the 2006 track
title, his second in three seasons for N.E.W. DIRT.
Mike Weitor grabbed the lead at the start of the Stock Car main
followed by Bob Schampers, Mike Franzke, Adam Van Haren, Darren Otto
and Troy Jerovetz. Over the first 5 laps, Otto and Snellenberger
pulled to the front and on lap 6, sandwiched Weitor out of turn 2
and ran three wide into turn three before Otto pulled to the lead at
the line. Snellenberger continued to march to the front and was the
leader on the next go round. Snellenberger kept his car on the high
side and ran the rest of the race holding off Otto and then Chaz Van
Ooyen, Jr to win his 4th feature of the season. Van Ooyen took the
runner up spot with Van Haren taking his best finish of the season
in third. Weitor, Otto and Jerovetz rounded out the top six.
In the Street Stock main, 2006 champion, Harley Simon, grabbed the
lead at the start, but, it was not an easy run as a determined pack
behind was looking to knock off the champ. Todd Everard, Darren
Otto, Jeremy Wiitala, and David Hoerning stayed tight together and
right behind the leader , aided by several cautions during the race.
A final caution set up a 3 lap dash with Simon able to hold off the
final hard charge to win his 3rd feature of the season. Otto,
Hoerning and Wiitala were right behind at the finish with Mitch
Landvick taking fifth and Everard sixth.
Chad Bartel led the opening lap of the Modified main before Mike
Wedelstadt took charge on lap 2. Chad Wilcox moved up to the runner
up spot and challenged the leader on the outside, scored as the
leader a couple times over the first 8 laps. Wedelstadt was able to
open a slight lead over the final half of the race with Wilcox
followed by Jerry Wilinski, Eric Scribner, Jamie Schmidt, Russ
Huxford and Danny Deau. Wedelstadt ran to his first feature win here
since Sept 6, 2004 with Wilcox taking the runner up spot. Scribner
took third with Wilinski in fourth. Jarrod Anvelink and Tim Van De
Hei made late race runs rounding out the top six.
Matt Oreskovich drew the outside pole and led flag to flag to win
his 6th division feature of the season. 2006 champion, Tim
Jorgenson, moved onto second on lap 2 but chased the leader the rest
of the way. Andy Kleczka, R.J. Liegois, James VanDenBogart, and J.J.
Anderson rounded out the top six.
The Sport Mods made a special appearance with Jason Jach winning the
feature event over Tom Schmidt, Marcus Yarie, Brad Bricco and Joe
Van Ooyen.
N.E.W. DIRT would like to THANK all of the fans, drivers, crews,
sponsors and staff for making the season a success. Monthly meetings
are held the first Monday of every month which will set up the 2007
season at the Seymour Speedway.
