Seymour Speedway Schedule Change!

By Dave Panske

Monday, May 1, 2006, Seymour, WI -  At the regular monthly club meeting, N.E.W. DIRT officials announce a change for the start of the 2006 season at the Seymour Speedway.

The 23rd season opener set for this Sunday night, May 7, has been pushed back one week, to Sunday night, May 14th.

The new lights are being put up, and the rain last weekend delayed the completion of the project. The track has to dry a bit before the cranes can be brought back in to set the poles and lites.

The work should be completed by this weekend, but it was felt to delay the opener would be the best plan, just in case something can not be completed.

There will be some activity at the track this week, however.

There will be a car show in the main parking lot from noon until 2 PM Sunday afternoon. Then, the focus will switch to the re-groomed track for an open practice session from 2:30 until done. The track was resurface last fall and more clay was just added to complete that project. The practice will give track crews more time to make sure the track is in top shape for the opener on the 14th.

Please pass the word that the 2006 season will start at the Seymour Speedway on Sunday night, May 14. There will be 5 divisions competing with racing starting at 5 PM.
