points separating the top three drivers and 1 week left in their
point chase.

season Sunday night and won his heat rcae and placed 4th in the

SOUND CHECK 4
CYLINDERS #68 Michelle Skolaski won her first race of the season
Sunday Night taking her heat race.
SOUND CHECK 4
CYLINDERS #22 Ralph Liegeois of Oconto went for a wild ride
Sunday night o lap 6 of the feature. He was not injured. |
Jason Bork took the lead at the start and set the pace for
4 laps before Joe Schwister taking over on lap 5. David Hoerning
moved into the runner up spot one lap later and pulled into the lead
entering turn 3 on lap 10. Schwister, Rod Solem, Bork, Matt Drawenek
and Mert Summers were behind. A blown engine on Bork's car brought
out the lone caution of the race on lap 12. Hoerning was still in
control followed by Schwister, Solem, Drawenek, Summers, T.J. White,
point leader, Jeremy Wiitala and Todd Everard.
Hoerning was able to pull away after the restart, but after 4 laps,
the cars exploded in a cloud of smoke on the front chute and he
pulled to the infield, turning the lead over to Summers. Wiitala,
Everard and Dan Davister got by Solem on the following lap.
Defending champ, Harley Simon moved into the lead battle with 3 laps
left.
After the white appeared, Summers was still leading the pack when
Simon was taken out by White entering turn 2, which brought out the
caution to end the race, giving the rookie driver his first career
feature win. Wiitala was second, Everard took third. And Davister,
his first visit this season takes fourth. Simon was put in the fifth
spot and Paul White was sixth.
Wiitala now holds an 8 point lead over Simon entering next weeks
final race. Solem is third, 9 behind the leader.
Bob Ninham grabbed the lead at the Start of the final Tri County
Heating IMCA Stock Car feature of the season with Fred Davister, Bob
Schampers, Mike Gilson and Darren Otto dropping in behind. Otto
pulled into the runner up spot on lap 4 and set up right behind the
leader. Davister had Greg Gretz, Larry Karcz, Jr and Kyle Frederick
moved right behind for third place. Ninham was still in control at
the mid point of the non-stop race with Otto still right behind as
the pair opened a slight lead over the battle for third.
Frederick pulled into the third spot on lap 13 and 2 laps later,
Otto found an opening to the inside of Ninham and took over the
lead. Davister, Karcz, Chaz Van Ooyen and Gretz were still together
running for fourth. Otto was able to hold off the double challenge
over the final couple laps to record his second feature win of the
season. Ninham claimed his best finish in second with Frederick
taking third. Van Ooyen won the battle for 4th place with Davister
holding onto fifth. Kyle Wanner nipped Gretz to round out the top
six.
Rod Snellenberger finished the night in 9th place and claimed his
fourth career division title by 17 points, 484-467, over Frederick.
The Budweiser IMCA Modifieds were up next and also clicked off a
fast non=stop feature event. Eric Mullen set the pace for the
opening 2 circuits. Benji LaCrosse started the race in 10th and
found the top line early and on lap 3 found himself in the lead.
Once in front, LaCrosse never looked back and left the rest of the
field to battle for second. Tim Van De Hei took second from Mullen
on lap 8 as the field strung out. The battle was for third place
after the mid point with Mullen still in control as the point cars
from deeper in the field were making their way to the front. Mike
Wedelstadt moved into third on lap 12. Danny Deau moved into fourth
on lap 18.
LaCrosse won his second feature of the season unchallenged with Van
De Hei taking the runner up spot followed by Wedelstadt and Deau.
Point leader, Jared Siefert ended the run in fifth place and Mullen
rounded out the top six for his best finish of the season.
Siefert earned his second track title in 3 years by a 463-430 margin
over Wedelstadt
The Late Models boaster a 20 car field for their final run of the
season. Brett Swedberg beat Terry Anvelink to the lead at the start
and set the pace until a caution on lap 4 bunched the field. On the
restart, Troy Springborn flew by to take charge of the race. One lap
later, Nick Anvelink passed dad, Terry, for the runner up spot and
pulled behind the leader. It looked like Anvelink was setting
Springborn up for an inside run, but a sudden run to the outside in
turn one and two on lap 10, put Nick in the lead and he was able to
survive 2 more cautions over the final 5 laps to claim his third
straight feature win and 4th of the season. Springborn ended a race
long battle with Ron Berna to take the runner up spot. Justin Richie
and Pete Parker finished third and fourth with Berna taking fifth
and Jesse Peebles rounded out the top six.
Parker entered the night the point leader and was able to secure his
7th track title and first since 1998. Springborn takes the runner up
spot in the final standings 502-466 and Justin Hirt takes third with
460.
Dean DeKeyser set the pace for much of the first half of the Sound
Check 4 Cylinder main. The race was red flagged on lap 6 for a wild
rollover by Ralph Liegeois in turn three. He was not injured.
DeKeyser was still the leader until Andy Kleczka slipped by on lap
9. Over the final laps, Kleczka was able to pull away to win his
second straight feature and fifth of the season. R.J. Liegeois was
second, Jake Wilcox third. Chad Guyette, Josh Novak and point
leader, Ian Lassanske rounded out the top six.
The top three in points entered the night with 8 markers separating
them. Lassanske was first with 419, Guyette second with 412 and
Kleczka third with 411. Lassanske is still in first but now only 5
points separate the three with Kleczka now in second by a 454-451
margin and Guyette third with 449. The division ends their point
season next week.
The area IMCA Sport Mods made a special appearance on their first
full visit to the track with 17 cars in the field. Adam White took
the lead in the feature and set the pace with Travis Cain and Dave
Stoffer battling right behind for second. White led the way for most
of the race with Cain finally able to pull off the pass for the lead
with 2 laps left to win his first feature of the season. White took
seconds with Eugene Gregorich in third. Tracey Wassenberg, Eric
Arneson and Chuck Grall rounded out the top six.
Next week will be the final night of racing for the 2007 season. It
will be a big night with the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Cars
making their first appearance on the 1/3 mile banked oval. They will
be joined by the Budweiser IMCA Modifieds running a non point event.
The Street Stocks and Sound Check 4 Cylinders will crown their
champions as well. Gates will open at 4:30 next week with the
Sprinters qualifying at 5:30. Racing starts at 6 PM.
