Seymour, WI - A hearty group of fans braved
a chilly, breezy night and witnessed a fast paced racing program
Sunday night at the Seymour Speedway. A field of 148 cars in five
divisions ran the smooth multi grooved track to perfection with
three first time and two repeat feature winners.

Late Models #10
Pete Parker and #32 Terry Anvelink battled for quite awhile with
Anvelink securing the lead when lapped
traffic came into play. It was his second straight feature win
in as many weekly features.
#95 BUDWEISER IMCA MOD Brian Joski led flag to flag and picked
up his first career Seymour Speedway feature win Sunday night.

Second place
racer Jamie Schmidt #42s put the squeeze on IMCA Mod feature
race leader #95 Brian Joski about midway in their A-main Sunday
night at Seymour Speeday.

In the IMCA Stock Car feature event, it came right down to the
final lap between race leaders #10 Rod Snellenberger and #27
Darren Otto. Coming around on
the last circuit, Snellenberger and Otto got together, Otto
scrubbed the back stretch wall and both continued to battle it
out to the checkers.

#10 TRI COUNTY
HEATING IMCA STOCK CAR Rod Snellenberger picked up his second
straight division feature win Sunday night.

#51 STREET STOCK
Jeremy Wiital won his first feature here since July 24, 2005
Sunday night at the Seymour Speedway.

Former track champ Jeremy Wiitala led after an early race
caution and picked up his first feature in two seasons. The race
for 2nd was tight between #71 Rod Solem and #65 Bill Kelsey.
Solem finished second, Darren Otto inched by for third with
Kelsey fourth.

#94 JJ Andersen caught leader #121x Andy Kleczka and chased him
to the finish. Kleczka was docked 2 spots on the restart
to place him in fourth. Unfortunatly, the apparent winner,
Andersen, refused a claim after the race and was DQ'd, which
moved everyone up and gave the win to
Ian Lassanske.

On lap 13 of the Sound Check 4 Cylinders, Pulaski's #11 Brad
Matuszak hit the tire entering turn three and barrel rolled to
the outsdie wall. He escaped injury and rewarded the crowd with
a wave! |
The Tri County Heating IMCA Stock Cars took the track first
with Troy Jerovetz and Shawn Wagner swapping the lead over the first
5 laps before Jerovetz secured the top spot while Wagner, Cory
Corchart, Kyle Wanner and Darren Otto bunched behind the leader.
There were several cautions with the final falling on lap 12 .
Jerovetz dropped out of the race which turned the leader over to
Wagner with last weeks winner, Rod Snellenberger in second followed
by Wanner, Corchart, Darren Otto, Greg Gretz and Kyle Fredrick.
Snellenberger dove to the inside to take the lead from Wagner after
the restart and Otto powered to the outside and after a couple laps
was alongside the leader. The pair ran almost side by side for the
final 5 laps with Otto scored as the leader as the white flag
appeared. The duel continued on the back chute but contact between
them entering turn three caused Otto to graze the turn 3 wall and
allowed Snellenberger to walk off with his second straight feature
win this season. Otto recovered and held on for the runner up
finish. Gretz finish a strong third after starting deep in the field
coming through the consy to make the main. Wagner was fourth with
Fredrick, also from the consy, taking fifth. Wanner completed his
best feature run ever here taking sixth.
Mitch Landvick paced the opening lap of the Street Stock main but a
second lap caution scrambled the running order with Jeremy Wiitala
taking the lead. Despite several cautions, Wiitala was able to run
at the front for the rest of the race and collected his first
feature win since July 24, 2005. The race for the runner up spot was
tight, with Rod Solem, Bill Kelsey and Darren Otto chasing Wiitala.
Solem won the battle taking second place money with Otto slipping
into third on the final lap. Kelsey was fourth. Harley Simon
restarted the race in the back after the lap 2 caution and came back
through to finish 5th. Paul White rounded out the top six.
A good field of 18 late Models took the green with Pete Parker
slipping into the top spot followed by Terry Anvelink, Troy
Springborn, Tom Naeyaert and Nick Anvelink. Anvelink stalked the
leader until diving to the inside entering turn 1 on lap 7. Parker
stayed right with the leader until lapped cars came into play on lap
10. After a lap 12 caution, Springborn looked like he would make a
run at the lead pair, but suddenly dropped out of the race 2 laps
later. Anvelink pulled away for his second straight feature win with
Parker holding the runner up spot. Nick Anvelink took third with
Naeyaert fourth. Justin Hirt and Jeff Curtain rounded out the top
six.
Brian Joski grabbed the lead at the start of the Budweiser IMCA
Modified feature with Jamie Schmidt, Eddie Muenster, David Werbelow
and Jerry Wilinski right behind. The mods used three lanes running
the main event as everyone tried to find the best spot for their
car. A couple cautions early in the race helped keep the field
bunched. Joski was able to hold off all challengers throughout the
race and when the race for second got interesting, Joski was able
open a slight lead. Jeremie Hedrick and Schmidt swapped the runner
up spot several times with Wilinski, Brian Mullen and Benji LaCrosse
right behind. Joski won his first ever division feature at Seymour
with Schmidt taking the second place finish over Hedrick. Wilinski
was fourth with Mullen and LaCrosse right behind.
Jake Wilcox led the way for the first 2 laps of the Sound Check 4
Cylinder feature before Andy Kleczka slipped by after a lap 3
restart. Kleczka pulled away a bit with JJ Andersen moving into
second. Ian Lassanske, Jamie Miller and Chad Guyette moved in line
behind. After running several laps alongside of the leader, Andersen
took over the top spot and started to pull away from the pack, until
a lap 14 red flag stopped the race for a wild rollover. Brad
Matuszak was moving to the lead pack when he tagged a tire in turn
three which sent him barrel rolling to the outside wall. He quickly
climbed out to wave to the grandstand and look at his damaged race
car.
Andersen was able to hold off Kleczka for the final 6 laps, to win
his first career feature here. Lassanske was third with Miller
fourth Guyette and Matt Frisch sixth.
Following the race, Kleczka was docked 2 positions for an incident
during the race, which proved a big miscue when the winner was DQ’d
for refusing a claim. This gave the win to Lassanske, his first
career feature win and put Miller in second. Kleczka finished third
with Guyette, Frisch and Tony Everard now in 6th.
Next Sunday will be Erdman Auto Parts night as they sponsor the
Veterans salute on Memorial Day weekend.
